Cam Locks — 75 Models from a Factory with 35 Years of Die-Casting Expertise

Precision cam locks (cylinder locks) in zinc alloy and stainless steel for cabinets, drawers, vending machines, and server racks.

75 models available · Last updated: October 2026

Cam locks (also called cylinder locks or tubular locks) are the most widely used cabinet locking mechanism in the industrial hardware world. A rotating cam bar engages behind the door frame when the key is turned, providing a simple yet reliable latching action. With 75 cam lock models spanning zinc alloy die-cast, 304 stainless steel, and engineering plastic constructions, Hengchieh covers virtually every cabinet, enclosure, and equipment locking application. Selecting the right cam lock requires matching the cylinder diameter, cam length, panel thickness, and key system to your specific access control and environmental requirements. Below is a selection guide based on 35 years of manufacturing and export experience.

Cam Lock Type Comparison — Which One Fits Your Application?

Key Factors for Cam Lock Procurement

Cylinder Diameter & Panel Thickness

The two most critical dimensions are cylinder body diameter (typically 16mm, 19mm, or 22mm) and the supported panel thickness (grip range). A 19mm cylinder with a 1-22mm grip range covers most standard cabinets. For thick panels (enclosure doors 3-6mm), request extended thread cylinders. Always verify cutout diameter and door thickness before ordering — we provide DXF cutout templates for every model.

Cam Length & Rotation Angle

The cam (tail piece) must be long enough to engage behind the frame lip. Standard cam lengths range from 15mm to 40mm. Most cam locks rotate 90 degrees (quarter-turn), but 180-degree models are available for applications where the cam must clear the frame on both sides. We stock 8 standard cam shapes and can manufacture custom cam profiles for OEM projects.

Key System & Master Keying

Standard cam locks use flat keys with 500-2,000 unique key combinations. Tubular key locks offer 4-7 pin configurations with higher pick resistance. For multi-site deployments, we support keyed-alike (all locks use the same key), keyed-different (unique keys), and master key systems. Key databases are maintained across production batches for repeat ordering.

Material & Corrosion Resistance

Zinc alloy (Zamak 5) die-cast bodies are the industry standard — economical, strong, and suitable for chrome or nickel plating. For outdoor, marine, or food-processing environments, 304 stainless steel bodies resist corrosion without plating. Nylon (PA66) bodies are non-conductive and lightweight for electrical enclosures. All zinc alloy models pass 200+ hours of salt spray testing (ASTM B117); stainless steel models exceed 500 hours.

Material & Finish Options
